Peltz Wins Team Home Run Derby, Prizes Handed Out at Community Basket Extravaganza

Burlington, IA – After a one-week postponement, the 2026 Community Basket Extravaganza took place at Community Field on July 27.  Due to hot temperatures, the intersquad scrimmage was cancelled; however, the originally scheduled Home Run Derby still occurred. 

Below was the eight-team field: 

1. PJ Hamel (McHenry County)

2. Adam Kudronowicz (Iowa Western)

3. Tanner Reinartz (Huntington)

4. Lane Spieker (Mount Mercy)

5. Rowen Bergeron (LSU-Eunice)

6. Christian Graves (Mount Mercy)

7. Troy Peltz (Iowa Western)

8. Juan Fernandez (SCC)

Peltz and Kudronowicz were the two in the finals with Peltz taking the crown. 

Kayla Blackwell from Keokuk won prize one, winning $2,500. 

Halee Vaughan from Huntsville, Texas was the winner of the Community Basket, taking home $4,000 worth of prizes.
