Burlington, IA – Quinn Wilfong (Florida State College – Jacksonville) and Talon Jennings (Olney

Central) allowed just one unearned run, as the Burlington Bees defeated the Decatur Bean

Ballers by a score 6-1 on June 14 at Community Field.

Wilfong made the start on the mound for the Bees. The right-hander tossed 5 2/3 innings

allowed one unearned run while allowing just 2 hits and striking out 5 batters.

Jennings recorded the final ten outs of the game to pick up his first save of the season. He

struck out four while surrendering only three hits.

Troy Peltz (Iowa Western) had a huge day that started in the bottom of the first inning, driving

in Jace Figuereo (Quincy) on a fielder's choice to make the score 1-0.

Decatur scored their only run in the second inning after a two out triple followed by an error to

tie the game.

Burlington then went on to score the final five runs on the game. Peltz struck again in the third

as he singled home Lucas Krebs (Illinois).

With two outs in the bottom of the fourth, Juan Fernandez (SCC) came through with a two run

double to plate Figuereo and Kolt Kurzman (Mount Mercy) to extend the lead to three.

Peltz's final RBI of the game came in the bottom of the fifth, when he homered over the right

field fence for his first long ball of the season, also marking the first home run by a Bee at

Community Field this season to make it a 5-1 game.

Fernandez on a sacrifice fly to push the score to 6-1. Miller has driven in a runner in all five

games he has started this season, bringing his total to eight.
