Burlington Loses Third Straight
Marion, IL - The Burlington Bees (14-34, 8-11) road struggles continue. The team lost their third straight game, falling to the Thrillville Thrillbillies (29-20, 8-14) 13-1 in seven innings at Mtn Dew Park July 25.
The team is 3-21 away from Community Field this season.
Thrillville scored in every inning except the fifth. They posted five in the third and three in the fourth to take control.
Burlington registered three total hits. Cedric Dunnwald (Mt.Mercy University) finished one for one with a double and a walk.
Skyler Agnew (Hawaii-Pacific) also had a double in a one for three day. Merrick Mathews (University of Iowa) finished one for two with the team's lone run.
The score came in the third and began on a single by the Hawkeye to start the inning. Dunnwald's double moved him to third and Mathews scored on an error by the left fielder. It made the score 2-1.
David Theriot Jr (Texas-Wesleyan) made the start and allowed seven hits and earned runs over three innings. He walked four with one strikeout.
Christian Forniss (Northwestern University) took over in his first appearance with the team. He went for two innings with two strikeouts and no earned runs allowed.
Erik Kiewiet (Mt.Mercy University) tossed the final frame. He gave up three hits and runs.
The Bees play the same opponent July 25. First pitch is at 7:00 p.m.
